Nabil Khouri is an Arab-American of Lebanese descent with a civil engineering degree. His formative years were spent in Jordan, his birthplace, and his homeland of Lebanon. Fleeing the Lebanese civil war, Khouri moved to the U.S. on a university student visa in 1978. He ultimately designed bridges and worked for the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area.
Khouri’s memoir, The Young Terrorist, highlights how hope and education can transform a child in an Arab militia group bent on destruction to a productive and community-oriented American citizen.
